For fifty years this building off Route 27 was Edgecomb Potters — pottery made and sold under one roof. That chapter closed, but the building didn’t. Today it’s home to 23 Maine makers — potters, jewelers, painters, woodworkers, weavers — each showing their own work, setting their own prices, often standing on the floor to hand it to you themselves.

One of my favorite wedding gifts 25 years ago was a big beautiful blue handmade pottery bowl and we still love and use it every day. Bowls became one of my favorite pieces to shop for and my top gift to give! After moving to Maine some years ago, I thought it may be time to make my own.
